Destination Steering Group Meeting 28th November 2011, Ardencote Manor, Claverdon

Draft Tourism Strategy (DTS) Workshops 19th & 26th September 2011

As part of the DTS consultation 2 workshops were held, one for accommodation providers, the other for attractions, hospitality, retailers and others. Both workshops were facilitated by Mike King from AMTi and James Turner from Hidden Britain.

The purpose of the workshops was to invite participants to rank and agree the priorities and actions required to develop and deliver a plan of action for tourism across the destination. The priorities (detailed below) and actions were determined through feed back from the consultation on the DTS.

Promote quality of visitor facilities and experience

Improve provision of visitor information

Promotion and raising awareness of the destination at all levels

Improving Digital Communication

Improve visitor welcome and experience

The next steps are:-

1. Convene a Destination Steering Group (DSG) meeting which is to be held on Monday 28^th November, hosted by Ardencote Manor at Claverdon.

2. Appointment of a chair for the DSG and agree Terms of Reference

3. Finalise and agree the DTS

4. Agree the Draft Action Plan.
